question:I got a lump in my leg from a fall into a metal winch. X Rays showed a very bad bruise. No medical attention was done. He said your skin will blister and don t let it get infected. It did not get infected. But the blisters came and healed. I still have a lump at point of impact. How do I get the lump to go down. It happened 3 weeks ago.

answer:Hi ! Good afternoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query. With a history of fall, this lump could be an organised hematoma (solidified blood collection), which might take a long time to get absorbed of its own. At best, you could go for some anti inflammatory drug along with a proton pump inhibitor, and a serratiopeptidase for a few days on advice your family physician.I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts. Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.

question:Eye ball sized non moving lump beneath left rib cage under breast. Does not hurt to touch but I have tenderness when moving/twisting that radiates from left to right across both rib cages. Two weeks prior to this finding I found 3 breast lumps on left breast after the quick (within days) onset of swelling and misshapen appearance with pain localized to the swelling. Left axilla swollen for about 3 months with soreness in chest above left breast and shoulder pain extending to my back all left side.

answer:Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query. With the description of your problem as described by you, it might not be advisable and possible to opine on the problem without a clinical examination of the affected area. Therefore, I would advise you to visit a general surgeon in your area and get it assessed properly along with related investigations if and when advised by him without any further delay. For a symptomatic relief of your pain, you could go for an anti inflammatory drug along with a proton pump inhibitor, but this should not delay your appointment with a general surgeon.I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. question:Hi I m 25 yr old mother of 2 yesterday I discovered a swollen place just bellow my right collar bone and clavicle it s sore n the swelling went down a little but now it hurts so bad the swelling started again an there s a shadow of a bruise surrounding it.

answer:Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query. If there is no history of any trauma, then it had to be an inflammatory/infective swelling like an abscess with surrounding cellulitis giving it a bruise like appearance. If I were your doctor, I would refer you to a general surgeon who might go for a clinical examination the area including that of the breast bilaterally to rule out any infection traveling from there. If the examination of the breast was negative, then he might put you on a broad spectrum antibiotic along with an anti inflammatory drug which might relieve you. Otherwise, he might plan for a FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) of the lump to arrive at a definitive diagnosis for planning an appropriate treatment.I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. question:Hi, I have a few small lumps in my lower left abdomen region near the pelvic area. It is also slightly painful to press the area, but no changes in any other functions. I did have my tubes tied a while ago, so I don t know if that would have to do with it, since I have only recently noticed this.

answer:Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query. In case you had a laparoscopic tubal ligation, and the lumps are in the area of the scars, it could be a hypertropic scar or keloid which could be related to the previous surgery. If not, then these could be completely different independent pathology like a benign lipoma. However, these could be diagnosed only by a physical examination , and so I would advise you to take an appointment with a general surgeon in your area for a proper diagnosis and further management. question:I have a lump on the right side of my neck right under where my jaw line ends. When I till my head to the left side I can see my pulse. The lumps is hard and about the size of a quarter I d say maybe a little smaller. I don t feel like I m sick or have a sore throat. Only when I turn my head to left I feel like more of a pull then sore. Just trying to figure out if I m okay?

answer:Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query. Possibly it could be a lymph node swelling. However, I could not mark it to be infective as you are not sick as such and there was no pain as such in the lump. If I were your doctor, after a clinical examination of yours I would send you to a pathologist for a FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology)/excision biopsy if need be for a more definitive diagnosis for a properly planned management.I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. question:My husband received a rocephin shot about 2 weeks ago. immediately there was a lump after the shot, I thought it maybe wasn t absorbed it went away but now he says it s tender to touch it, and there is a very small lump at the injection site! Could this be from irritating those tissues?

answer:Hi ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query. Even though confirmation needs a physical examination, from your history of the tender lump at an injection site, it could be the starting of an injection abscess. I would advise you to get it assessed soon by a general surgeon before it transforms itself into a full fledged abscess which might need an incision and drainage later. Till then you could give him an anti inflammatory along with a proton pump inhibitor drug for a symptomatic relief.I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem.
