answer:Hello!Welcome on Healthcaremagic!Your symptoms could be related to an inner ear disorder, considering also the noise in your ears. They don't seem to be related to your blood pressure or your heart problems. You shouldn't worry about it!Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with an ENT specialist and performing labyrinthine tests. Hope you will find this answer helpful!Kind regards, Dr. Aida

question:I developed a herniated disc November 29, 2013. I have been going to physical therapy and will see a Neuro Surgeon this Monday January 13, 2014. I have numbness in my lower left calf (in front) which has been there since the herniation. I woke up this morning with my ankle swollen on same side. Should I be concerned? Just wanted to say this incident was the worst pain I have ever experienced.

answer:Hello!Welcome on Healthcaremagic!Your symptoms (swollen ankle) do not seem to be related to the herniated disk. It could be indicative of a deep vein thrombosis or arthritis. For this reason, I recommend going to the ER for a physical check up and some tests: - a Doppler ultrasound of the leg vessels- an X ray of the ankle- complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate- D- Dimmer levels. Hope you will find this answer helpful!Kind regards, Dr. Aida

question:Hi can you explain fluttering in the back of the brain with like either quick jolts of dizziness or long drawn out moments of dizziness that seem to be caused by these brain flutters. They scare me!!! I go to see a neurologist on Fri. and I have had a MRI done but this is due to very extreme head aches. What questions should I ask should I request a special kind of med for this thing should I be worried.

answer:Hello!Welcome on Healthcaremagic!Your symptoms could be related to occipital neuralgia. If your brain MRI is normal, I would recommend performing a cervical spine X ray study and inflammation tests (complete blood count, PCR, Sedimentation rate). Hope you will find this answer helpful!Kind regards, Dr. Aida

question:I have fibromyalgia & take meds for this as well as chronic anxiety and depression. In 2007, I became ill with what the dr thought was strep, & was laid up for a month. During this time, I experienced strange symptoms, one of which was the sensation of an electrical wave or current going up & down my spine. Since then, I feel as if there is a heavy cap over the top half of my head, making it difficult to even raise my eyebrows (know this sounds silly!), and often have headaches / pulses of pain there. Have had everything from my sinuses to my ears checked, but nothing. One dr. thought I should be treated for a fungal infection... Any help you can give me would be great! Cindy

answer:Hello Cindy!Welcome on Healthcaremagic!Considering the sensation of electrical wave in your spine, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical exam and a brain and cervical spine MRI study, to exclude any possible lesions in these levels. I would also recommend checking vitamin B12 plasma levels. Hope you will find this answer helpful!Bert wishes, Dr. Aida

question:Ihave been advised by my Dentist after x-rays, that my gums are full of mucas. But they are not sore. I have also been advised that there is mucas in the brain. Every day for about 5 to7 hours my brain and skull aches, as well as my neck, sinuses, and shoulders. I am like this when i wake up, and my legs feel like i have just run a marathon. I also have mucas that comes from behind the eye balls, every day. Regards Glenn

answer:Hello Glenn!Welcome on Healthcaremagic!Considering your symptoms, I would recommend performing a brain MRI in order to examine better your brain. It is also recommendable to perform some blood lab tests (complete blood count, thyroid hormone levels, fasting glucose, vitamin D levels, vitamin B12 plasma levels). Hope you will find this answer helpful!Kind regards, Dr. Aida

question:Minimal small 3mm areas OD deep white matter change. One within the right frontal lobe a d second in left mid frontal lobe! These results were in 2008. I was having memory problems then. 10 x worse. Cannot remember what I do with things, it s getting very embarrassing . I cannot talk mind just goes entirely blank. I have a multitude of other issues, do you think I should ask for specialty neurologist?

answer:Hello!Welcome on Healthcaremagic!Your symptoms are suggestive of dementia. Other possible causes to consider would be: vitamin D or Vitamin B12 deficiency, or thyroid dysfunction. I would like to know if you suffer from high blood pressure or diabetes? These conditions could lead to small vessel disease in the brain, which could cause those small lesions. Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical exam and some cognitive tests. It is also necessary performing some blood lab tests (complete blood count, vitamin D, vitamin E and vitamin B12 plasma levels, thyroid hormone levels, fasting glucose). A new brain MRI study is necessary. Hope you will find this answer helpful!Best wishes, Dr. Aida
