question:I have been having breathing issues for a couple of years, but they are quite worse over the past few months.. Chest pressure, the in ability to take a deep breath and sternum pain when taking a deep breath.. I am miserable.. Uncomfortable and sick of it... they have done some tests, but dismiss this as stress.. Could this be true?
answer:Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, stress can cause all these symptoms. But better to rule out heart and lung related diseases first. So get done ecg and 2d to rule out heart diseases. Get done chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to rule out Pulmonary causes. If all these are normal then no need to worry for major heart and lung related causes. Stress appears more likely in your case. So consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution. You may need anxiolytic drugs too. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. Don't worry, you will be alright. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
question:My mother is in a coma and the doctors can not determine the cause. She is a diabetic with a history of high blood pressure. She was having shortness of breath the day she went into the coma She was rush to the ER and fluid was on her lungs and her blood pressure was very high. The Dr told me she flatlined twice. The machine is doing all the breathing for her. She was taking off of sedatives to if she would respond.however is still in a coma. I am hopeful she will come out of the coma. Any feedback would be helpful.
answer:Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, diabetes and uncontrolled hypertension can cause coma. High blood sugar level can cause diabetic coma due to osmolar edema in brain. Uncontrolled hypertension can cause brain hemorrhage and coma. In your mother's case, hypoxic brain damage is another cause. She was having flat line twice. This means that her heart stopped twice. This might cause reduced blood supply to brain and hypoxic damage. To rule out all these possibilities, get done MRI brain and CSF (cerebro spinal fluid) analysis. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your mother. Thanks.

question:Fibrotic opacities are seen in the right upper lobe . Small nodular calcific opacities are seen in both upper and lft mid lung zones . Cardiac size & contour are within normal limits . Hila are normal . Pulmonary vasculature is normal . Both CP angles are free . Both domes of diaphragm are normal . Soft tissue and rib cage are normal .I previously treated and got healed of TB 8years ago. Now,does it mean that the TB is reactivation? The radiologist concluded that: RIGHT UPPER LOBE FIBROTIC OPACITIES WITH SMALL NODULAR CALCIFIC OPACITIES IN BOTH UPPER LOBES AND LEFT MID LUNG ZONES . FINDINGS ARE SUGGESTIVE OF PREVIOUS TUBERCULUS INFECTION .
answer:Do you have any symptoms like fasting fever weight loss, night sweats etc. the xray findings sounds like old scar from old treated TB. It could be a nuisance to get clearance for new jobs outside the country. Otherwise not to worry. just keep the xray for future comparison.Hope this help.
